Doha, March 12, 2025 – The Qatar Chapter of the Government Engineering College Alumni, Thrissur (QGET), successfully organized its annual Iftar gathering, Punya Nilav, at the KG Section Hall of MES School, Abu Hamour. The event, which has been a cherished tradition for the past 15 years, brought together QGET members and their families in the spirit of unity and reflection during the holy month of Ramadan.
The gathering commenced with the Iftar break, followed by a welcome speech by QGET Treasurer Mr. Varghese K. Varghese. QGET’s active member and career guidance expert, Mr. Feroz P. T, delivered the Ramadan Message, highlighting the spiritual significance of fasting and the values promoted during the holy month.
Prominent community figures graced the occasion, including Mr. Shahnavas Bava from the Indian Community Benevolent Forum (ICBF) and Mr. E.C. Abdul Rahman from the Indian Sports Centre (ISC), who delivered felicitation speeches. Mr. Thaha from the Indian Business & Professionals Council (IBPC) also attended, adding to the significance of the event.
In his presidential address, QGET President Mr. Tomy Varkey extended warm Ramadan greetings to all attendees and provided an overview of the organization’s upcoming initiatives. He also expressed gratitude to everyone who contributed to making the event a grand success.
The event was coordinated by senior QGET members Abdul Aziz, Anvar Sadath, Irshad Shaffi, Fahim Hassan, and Ramees, along with Joint Treasurer Amjad, Nishab , Vice President Gopal H Rao, Sports Secretary and Iftar Committee Chairman Ilyas, and General Secretary Gopu Rajasekhar.
With over 250 participants, Punya Nilav once again reaffirmed QGET’s commitment to fostering cultural togetherness among its members. The event concluded on a high note, reinforcing the values of sharing, gratitude, and community bonding.
